2018 FIFA Football For Hope Coaches Training and Implementation, Ibadan, Oyo State

Special Olympics Nigeria conducted a three days coaches training for FIFA ‘Football for Hope’ initiative, from 2nd to 4th of May, 2018, at Oluyole Chesire Home, Ijokodo, Ibadan, Oyo State.

A total number of 20 volunteers were trained and certified as coaches. The participant learned different football training skills, how to relate to people with intellectual disability (PWID), and received lectures on child protection. To improve the quality of training sessions during implementation, coaches of football clubs within the community were recruited as volunteers.

Currently, a total of 216 participants (athletes and partners), 50 coaches and 10 vocational skills instructors have benefited from this programme in Lagos and Oyo State.
